Teaching Journalism in Egypt: Caught Between Control and Transformation – New Book Chapter by Hanan Badr
Hanan Badr has co-authored a chapter with Carola Richter (FU Berlin) in the book Journalism Pedagogy in Transitional Countries, edited by Diana Garrisi and Xianwen Kuang. The anthology is concerned with the teaching of journalism at universities in countries in transition, such as China, Mexico, Turkey, and many others. The Head of Public Spheres and Inequalities contributed her expertise on Egypt. In the chapter Teaching Journalism in Egypt:Captured Between Control and Transformation she illustrates the tension between control and development in Egyptian Journalism Education. The book was published in the Palgrave Studies in Journalism and the Global South (PSJGS) series by Palgrave.
