Study at the Department of Communication Science

Since 2001, you can complete a three-stage degree program in Communication Studies. The Bachelor’s program in Communication Studies offers theoretical and empirical basics as well as practice-oriented media and communication knowledge and skills. Interdependencies between communication, media, society, culture, economy, politics and technology are in focus. The Master’s program in Communication Studies builds on the basic knowledge acquired in the Bachelor’s program in Communication Studies and comparable Bachelor’s programs. The second Master’s programme Digital Communication Leadership is a joint degree programme supported by the European Commission with Universities in Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands.The PhD program at the Faculty of Social Sciences is not linked to a particular department but is organized cross-departmentally on the faculty level.
