Apply now for CIVIS Blended Intensive Programmes

The University of Salzburg is pleased to announce that applications for the CIVIS Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) are now open for the upcoming summer semester.

BIPs are a unique academic offer that combines online learning with short-term physical mobility abroad. With around 45 programmes hosted by leading universities across Europe – and, for the first time, two in Africa – students can explore diverse topics while gaining international experience.

This year’s BIPs cover a wide range of subjects, including cell biology, climate change, mental health, urban systems, cultural diplomacy, refugee studies, cardiovascular research, and European law. Whether you’re interested in scientific innovation, social sciences, humanities, or environmental challenges, there’s something for everyone.

Why join a BIP?

  • Enrich your intercultural understanding
  • Learn from experts at partner institutions
  • Benefit from funding support*
  • Earn ECTS credits recognised by the University of Salzburg

If you’re interested in participating, make sure to submit your application by 30 October 2025.

For full details on available programmes and how to apply, visit the  CIVIS course page.

*Please note that funding is subject to availability and requires a separate application after acceptance onto the programme. For advice, join the CIVIS Consultation Hour every Thursday from 10–11 am or contact directly. Make sure to also check out our FAQs.
