Einladung zum Vortrag: The Political Economy of Yugoslavia 1945 – 1991

Vortragender: Boštjan Udovič

Zeit/Ort: Di, 31.5.2022, 14-16 Uhr, PR 115A/B

Yugoslavia was in all terms after 1945 a special case (Sonderfall as nominated in the German politics). During the lecture we will try to understand why Yugoslav socialism was fragmented between “market-socialism” as in Slovenia and “real-socialism” as in Serbia. Realising this harsh split in the logic of conducting the economy, had the country the possibility to survive?

Boštjan Udovič received his BA in International Relations (2004) and his PhD in International Economics (in 2009). From 2005 he has been employed at the University of Ljubljana, teaching different courses related to diplomacy and international political economy. His publication opus includes more than 70 scientific articles, books and chapters. From 2013 onwards he has been a member of the Strategic Council for Foreign policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia.
