Learning German at the Salzburg Museum: new course in the summer semester 2023

Language and cultural learning at the Salzburg Museum

In March, another course on language and cultural learning started at the Salzburg Museum (project “SpraKuS“, cooperation project between the Language Centre and the Salzburg Museum). The course takes place from March 2023 to June 2023 on a total of 14 afternoons.

Contents

The course accompanies the exhibition “ Salzburg einzigartig. History(s) from City and Countryside“. Other topics and locations include the Panorama Museum, the Glockenspiel and Hohensalzburg Fortress. In the courses, participants actively engage with the content of the exhibitions, discuss with colleagues and reflect on their own story(s) and the story(s) of others. The focus is on open and/or creative tasks that enable participants to contribute their individual perspectives and actively shape the course. In addition to linguistic competences, higher-level competences in particular are taught, which should strengthen the autonomy of the learners and enable them to participate in social discourses: Competences for dealing with texts, general learning and communication strategies as well as inter-/transcultural and reflective competences for a differentiated examination of culture(s) and history(s).

Target group

The course is aimed at adult or adolescent learners of German as a second language from level A2 in German.

Dates

  • Thursday, 14:30-16:00
  • Start: 02.03.2023
  • End of course: 22.06.2023
  • 09.03.2023: 14:00-16:15

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a confirmation from the Salzburg Museum.

Note: The course is organised by the Salzburg Museum and held at the Salzburg Museum. The Language Centre is responsible (within the framework of the third-party funded project “SpraKuS“) for the conception of the teaching and learning materials as well as for the empirical accompanying research.
