My project is entitled “Ontology of symmetries reconsidered: rethinking past studies, new empirical statuses, and their links”.
It contributes to integrating various arguments and approaches concerning the ontology of theoretical symmetries in physics. This involves articulating with each other more recent direct and indirect empirical statuses of theoretical symmetries and older elements such as the hole argument and the gauge argument. The aim is to produce a more coherent view of how various kinds of theoretical symmetries relate to the world.
