Anita Heindlmaier is a postdoctoral researcher in the transnational DACH project “Rebalancing the Enlarged Single Market” (RESiM). Before, she worked as a doctoral researcher in the international NORFACE project “Transnationalization and the judicialization of welfare” ( TransJudFare). She studied political science, French and international law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich and the University of Montreal. Her research and teaching focuses on the EU, free movement and migration, social rights, and implementation of EU law. In her dissertation, she analysed how EU Member States apply EU law, in particular case law of the European Court of Justice, on EU social citizenship in practice. Furthermore, Anita Heindlmaier is expert for Austria in the international ERC project Migration and Transnational Social Protection in (post) crisis Europe” ( MiTSoPro) and affiliated researcher in the project “ EXPULCIT: the meaning of expulsion in an area of common EU citizenship“.
