Zoe Lefkofridi is Professor of Politics & Gender, Diversity & Equality at the Division of Political Science and Sociology of the University of Salzburg. She is also affiliated with the Salzburg Center of European Studies (SCEUS) and the  European Governance and Politics Programme of the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCAS) in Florence. She also serves as the scientific director of gendup – the University of Salzburg’s center for women and gender studies. In addition, Lefkofridi is Chair and Co-convenor of the Standing Group on Political Representation, European Consortium for Political Research; the Chief Editor of Specialty Section “Political Participation” of the new gold Open Access journal  Frontiers in Political Science and Co-editor of the Series “ Politics and Governance in the Smaller European Democracies“, NOMOS Publications. Lefkofridi’s research and teaching focus on democracy, equality and diversity and in particular on the causes and consequences of unequal political participation and representation, and the impact of European integration on representative democracies.
