Dimitri Prandner, M.A. PhD, is a sociologist with a strong affiliation towards political and cultural dialog. He joined the department for communication studies in the winter of 2010 as a Ph.D. candidate and his main research topics since have been the analysis of Austrias journalistic system and cultural narrative research.While his work in the department is mainly based on the school of French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, his own research is guided by the writings of sociologists Emilé Durkheim, Norbert Elias, Jeffrey C. Alexander and communication scientist Jill E. Edy.
