Viktoria Jansesberger has been a PhD student at the Chair for Methods in Political Science at the Department of Political Science and Sociology at the University of Salzburg since October 2020. Furthermore, she is employed at the third-party funded project “Investigating Climate Justice Preferences for Financing Instruments for Loss and Damage”. Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked from March 2019 to September 2020 as research assistent for the Horizon 2020 project “Populism and Civic Engagement” (PaCE) and was also engaged in the project “Making Tomorrow’s Leaders: Youth Movements of Right Wing Populist Parties”. She completed both her bachelor and master studies in political science at the University of Salzburg. In her doctoral thesis she is investigating the effects of natural disasters on protest and repression dynamics in developing countries. Her research interests also encompass populism, political participation and gender.
