Yuleng Zeng is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Salzburg. He is broadly interested in the security implications of economic interdependence. His current research applies network analysis and game theory to examine states’ commercial ties and how they affect countries’ strategic interactions. Stemming from this core project, he is also interested in different tools of coercion and economic statecraft, major power competition, and contemporary Chinese foreign policy. His studies have been published or are forthcoming at Journal of Peace Research, Conflict Management and Peace Science, International Interactions, and Journal of East Asian Studies.
