Elsevier

The University Library of Salzburg has signed an Open Access agreement with the publisher Elsevier. Authors of the University of Salzburg have the possibility to publish in Elsevier journals with hybrid option and Open Access journals without restrictions and without additional costs.

In which journals can I publish?
In all subscribed Elsevier journals with Open Access option and Open Access journals. A list can be found here.

Which article types are accepted?

  • Review article
  • Full-length article

Which license is granted? 
CC-BY 4.0 or CC BY-NC-ND 4.0

How are eligible authors identified?
Identification is done by providing the affiliation when submitting the article and the university email address.

Procedure:

  1. Eligible publications (Corresponding Author is a member of the University of Salzburg) are identified by the publisher upon submission.
  2. The university library verifies whether the corresponding author belongs to the University of Salzburg.
  3. If the assignment is successful, the author* will see “I do not have to pay an Article Publishing Charge.” when selecting “Select Gold Open Access.” Here you can select the open access publication that is free of charge for you.
  4. After verification and confirmation, the article will appear Open Access under a Creative Commons license (CC-BY 4.0).
