Employed at the University of Salzburg since 1986. 1990 – 2002 editorial board member, from 1995 editorial board spokesperson of the Austrian Journal of Sociology. 1993 -2002 project leader in the field of sociological action theory within the interdepartmental focus group and the collaborative research center “Theorien-und Paradigmenpluralismus in den Wissenschaften. Rivalität, Ausschluß oder Kooperation”. Definitely placed in 2001 by the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts according to the Civil Service Law (BDG). Research and teaching on theory of society, social and scientific theory and history of theory, sociology of art and culture and transdisciplinary cultural studies. Co-founder of the series Salzburger Kulturwissenschaftliche Dialoge. Non-university teaching in the field of social psychiatry. Chair of the Salzburg Society for the Sociology of Culture. Various functions in university committees and interest groups. Currently: Speaker of the Curia of the scientific university staff at the KGW-Faculty, Chair of the works council, deputy state chairman and member of the extended federal leadership in the universities’ union for scientific and artistic staff.
