Research in the Schmidt-Arras group centers on how immune cells either combat or promote tumor formation, including the role of paracrine signaling within the tumor microenvironment. The laboratory employs both in vivo and ex vivo approaches and integrates expertise in experimental hepatology, immunology, tumor biology, and cytokine signaling.
