Join us for an engaging book presentation and workshop with Laura Rahm (European University Institute & Centre Population et Développement, Paris). The afternoon begins with the interactive workshop, The Nuts and Bolts of Academic Book Writing, providing junior researchers and postdocs with practical guidance on turning a dissertation or research project into a book proposal, navigating academic publishing, and developing long-term writing projects. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss their own book ideas and projects in an interactive setting.
The event continues with a presentation and discussion of Rahm’s newly published open-access monograph, The Global Governance of Harmful Practices. Drawing on political sociology, demography, and gender studies, the book offers a critical, interdisciplinary perspective on global gender governance and the hidden “knowledge battles” over what counts as a harmful practice.

Die Junge UNI setze heuer einen Schwerpunkt in Demokratiebildung und vernetzte Kinder mit Wissenschaftler*innen. Das Ergebnis ist in der 100. Ausgabe der Kinderzeitung „Plaudertasche“ nachzulesen, diese erreicht mit einer Ausgabe von 7000 Stück Kinder im gesamten Bundesland und öffnet die Tür zur Universität.

Das neue Curriculum eröffnet individuelle Studienwege – vom klassischen Fachbachelor bis zur Kombination mit anderen Disziplinen – und verbindet fundierte politikwissenschaftliche Ausbildung mit Praxis, Methodenkompetenz und internationalen Perspektiven.
