Dr. Geri Ruissen

Dr. Geri Ruissen is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation at the University of Alberta. She completed her B.Sc. (Hons) in Psychology at the University of Victoria, followed by an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia, where she conducted her doctoral research in Dr. Mark Beauchamp’s PEHPA Lab. She later held a postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Guy Faulkner in collaboration with ParticipACTION.
Dr. Ruissen’s research focuses on the dynamic relationship between affect and physical activity, using continuous-time modelling and ecological momentary assessment to explore how these processes evolve within individuals in real-world contexts. Her work emphasizes person-specific dynamics and aims to inform the development of personalized, just-in-time adaptive interventions to support physical activity, particularly among individuals with mood disorders such as major depressive disorder. Her broader interests include mobile health, quantitative methodology, mental health, and real-time behaviour tracking.

Eröffnung der Fotoausstellung „Arakelots“ am 7. Mai 2025

Erstmals stellt Jasmine Dum-Tragut Arakelots in einer Fotoausstellung am  Zentrums zur Erforschung des Christlichen Ostens an der Theologischen Fakultät vor. Im Rahmen der Eröffnung der Fotoausstellung präsentierte sie das Kloster, die Siedlung und auch die Herausforderungen in der Erhaltung dieses mittelalterlichen Kulturerbes im armenisch-aserbaidschanischen Grenzgebiet in einem Vortrag. 

Das von der interuniversitären Forschungsinitiative „Music and Migration“ erarbeitete Handbuch Wolfgang Gratzer / Nils Grosch / Ulrike Präger / Susanne Scheiblhofer (Hg.), “The Routledge Handbook of Music and Migration: Methodologies and Theories”, Routledge 2024 wurde eben für den namhaften Award 2025 der American Musicological Society nominiert.
