State of the Art methods for data analysis and statistics require increasing computing re-sources, often exceeding those available on workstations and laptops. The rise of AI based ap-proaches and multivariate algorithms in recent years as well as the traditionally high demand for compute resources when using high-dimensional methods like the (f)MRI and the MEG demon-strate the demand for a professional High Performance Computing system.
The SCC is the new High Performance Computing infrastructure at the University of Salzburg. It is designed to provide easy access for researchers, students, and their collaboration partners to the necessary computing resources. The system is currently in the Alpha Stage, providing ser-vices to a first – albeit expanding – set of users.
In this talk, I’m going to provide an introduction to the SCC, presenting the hard- and software behind it as well as some short live demonstrations on how to access and use it.
The talk will be presented in English
