On behalf of the EUCHALLENGES Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, we are delighted to invite you to the first day of our Concluding Conference, which will take place on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, at the Salzburg Centre of European Union Studies – SCEUS.
Building on three years of teaching and research conducted within the EUCHALLENGES Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, the conference will reflect on key challenges currently facing the European Union, particularly in the areas of the rule of law, migration and Economic and Monetary Union.
As the EU embarks on high-stakes negotiations over its long-term budget, it provides a timely opportunity to discuss the Union’s priorities and capacity to act.
The conference will be opened by Professor Martin Auer, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Business and Economics. Its first day will conclude with a roundtable on the future of the EU budget, bringing together academics and EU practitioners to discuss the implications of forthcoming reforms for the European Union’s ability to meet today’s challenges.
EUCHALLENGES is a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence co-funded by the European Union.
