Database Research Cluster Opening
Computing Infrastructure for the University of Salzburg
5. November 2026 | 14:00–16:00 Uhr | Lecture Hall I – Christian Doppler | Jakob-Haringer-Straße 2A | 5020 Salzburg | Flyer
The Database Research Cluster offers a powerful and reliable computing infrastructure for computationally intensive research, backed by excellent technical support. It is open to all researchers at the University of Salzburg. At the opening event, we will introduce the computing infrastructure to the public, present typical usage scenarios, showcase examples of applications in the Digital Humanities, and provide information on how to use the infrastructure.
For large-scale data analyses, simulations, and other computationally intensiveresearch or teaching environments, we offer virtual machines. These are flexible in terms of CPU cores, RAM, and storage space. For performance experiments, we offer bare-metal access to high-performance servers connected via a high-speed network.
