Media, Text and Travel

Joint online symposium with the University of Melbourne

16-17 March 2023 | via Zoom

As part of the new (research and teaching) collaboration of the PLUS Faculty of Cultural Sciences with the Faculty of Arts at the renowned University of Melbourne (Australia’s highest-ranked university), we are pleased to announce an online symposium on Media, Text and Travel, to be held via Zoom on Thursday, 16 March (8:30 AM-12:30 PM CET) and Friday, 17 March (9:00 AM-12:20 PM CET).

This first joint event is co-organised by the Media and Communications program of the University of Melbourne and the Department of English and American Studies of the University of Salzburg.

Experts from both institutions will share their ongoing research, teaching practices and industry experience on digital media discourse, professional media writing, applied language study, and intercultural communication. More broadly, the theme of Media, Text and Travel provides a forum for challenging, advancing, and understanding issues of media consumption and production in national and global settings.
