Since 2011, the three universities JKU Linz, the University of Salzburg, and the University for Continuing Education Krems have been running a joint mentoring program for their women researchers: The Karriere_Mentoring III (KM III) program is a success story and a very good example of the innovative and productive cooperation between three public Austrian universities.

We are delighted to announce that we will be offering the 7th edition of Karriere_Mentoring III in 2026! The target group is women researchers (including all persons who identify as women, intersex, and/or non-binary). The program is aimed equally at women researchers with linear and non-linear career paths.

The participating mentees are supported in their career planning through discipline-specific one-on-one mentoring, topic-specific workshops for doctoral and postdoctoral students, and individual coaching. A joint framework program provides space for exchange across disciplines and career levels and promotes inter-university networking.

Eight women researchers per university—four doctoral candidates and four postdoctoral researchers—can participate in this program. All women research assistants are invited to apply, from those who are just beginning to consider a dissertation or postdoctoral research to those who are nearing completion.

The kick-off will take place from May 18th till May 21st in beautiful Gmunden. Please refer to the attached program folder for further details.

Costs: For university employees, the participation fee is € 350. In addition, travel and accommodation costs for the program components at the other two universities are to be covered by the respective department.

Application: Please note that participation in the program is only possible with the approval of the manager responsible for your personnel matters.

The application deadline is November 21, 2025. We will inform you in writing by Christmas 2025 at the latest whether you have been accepted or placed on the waiting list.
