Seminar: Challenges of European Integration

This seminar invites students to discuss current challenges of European integration from an interdisciplinary perspective. In an increasingly unstable world, the European Union has been in a state of polycrisis driven from from internal and external challenges. These multiple and interlinked crises are revealing weaknesses in the democratic and liberal foundations of the European Union and its member states. The seminar is composed of a series of lectures by internal and external guests presenting current research and practical expertise on ongoing debates linked to the European Union and the process of European integration. Students are offered a unique opportunity to debate these challenges with academics and practitioners from very diverse backgrounds and professional expertise. These different perspectives help to understand ongoing crises and how they affect democracy in a range of issues, from rule of law, to migration and foreign policy.
