Cluster 3: History and Transnational Social Movements

In an increasingly interconnected world, it is worth examining migration history and transnational social movements from a global perspective. This comprises a variety of approaches including comparatively as well as contemporary lenses.
This MML cluster focuses on topics including, but not limited to:

  • The dynamics of how and why movements and mobilizations happen across and within national boundaries among a variety of groups, both for and against a number of joint objectives.
  • The promotion of sustainability and climate action, peace, and other forms of activism towards social change.
