About the Conference
International intellectual property protection is essential for promoting technological development. Lacking intellectual property protection or different protection standards in different countries are a severe obstacle to economic development and international trade and investment. Intellectual property laws must ensure that private rights and public interest are both taken into consideration to facilitate technological and sustainable economic development alike. However, this balance lies on a tightrope, and there is a need to apply and interpret IP law in a way that adequately balances all interests.
Against this backdrop, the purpose of the conference is to analyze how the different forms of IP laws address new challenges and balance private rights and public interest. The conference aims to provide a platform for academics, advocates, research scholars, law students, NGO’s and policymakers to delve into the issues and promote an international academic discourse.
