5th PEP project meeting and conference on plurilingual education at Roma Tre University
From 20 to 24 October 2025, the 5th project meeting of the EU project PEP (Promotion de l’éducation plurilingue / Promoting plurilingual education, Erasmus+, 2023-1-FR01-KA220-HED-000160820) and the international conference ‘Bridging voices in plurilingual education: policies, research and education’ took place at Roma Tre University.
During the project meeting, the partner institutions worked intensively on several work packages: the developmant of adaptable adaptable good practice examples of plurilngual practices, the further development of the Wikiversity departments on plurilingual education, and the design of a hybrid training course for language teachers. The collaboration was characterised by productive discussions and concrete results, which will be carried over into the next project phase.
The subsequent conference offered a diverse programme with around 100 speakers, two plenary lectures, four project presentations, an escape room and a plurilingual theatre play. It enabled a lively exchange on current issues of plurilingualism in education, research and policies. The great interest and positive feedback from the participants underline the relevance of the topic and the quality of the event. The Language Centre of the University of Salzburg was strongly represented by Theresa Bogensperger, Christoph Hülsmann and Margareta Strasser, as well as two contributions and four section chairs.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the team at Roma Tre University for their excellent organisation and warm hospitality. The next project meeting will take us to Viseu, where a joint training course for language teachers will be held.
