Welcome to the website of the Doctorate School PLUS

The University of Salzburg offers a high-quality and structured doctoral education and supports Early-Stage Researchers in their scientific development in the best possible way. The basis for this is university-wide standards, binding curricula and comprehensive quality management. Central elements are the disposition in the first year of study, the public presentation of the dissertation project and a dissertation agreement with time and work schedule. The support is provided in a team. Supervision and assessment are separated in terms of personnel. These standards are anchored in the framework curriculum and in the statutes and are underpinned by the Handbook Quality in Doctoral Studies. The implementation and documentation of the entire process – from dissertation registration to scheduling and presentation to submission and review – is carried out centrally via the Thesis Administration Platform (PAAV). Faculty-specific guidelines provide additional support.

The Doctorate School PLUS (DSP) supports structured doctoral training at the University of Salzburg. Since 2016, the DSP colleges of the Doctorate School PLUS have been networking doctoral students across faculties. In addition, open courses are available to all doctoral candidates. The focus of the courses is on teaching generic skills and competencies to strengthen career opportunities.
