    The cover letter is your first opportunity to introduce yourself individually and explain your motivation for the advertised position. A personal cover letter is part of your complete application documents.

    Your application documents will be reviewed and checked, after which the person responsible for the vacancy will contact you directly and inform you about the next steps. Interviews will take place at the organisational unit (department, division) advertising the vacancy. As a rule, a representative of the working group for equal opportunities and the works council will also take part in these interviews.

  • How do I apply?

    Please apply within the application period via our online application platform ( Onlinebewerbungsplattform), quoting the relevant reference number for the vacancy.     Applications submitted after the deadline can unfortunately no longer be considered. The application period lasts at least three weeks and may be extended if necessary. You can find the exact end of the application period in the respective job advertisement.

  • When will I receive a response to my application? / When can I expect feedback?

    After we receive your application documents, you will receive a confirmation e‑mail from the Human Resources Department. The selection process takes some time.
    If you are considered for a personal interview, we will usually contact you shortly after the application deadline has passed. If your application is not shortlisted, you will receive a corresponding notification once the entire selection process has been completed.
  • Where and how do the interviews take place?

    It depends on the individual organisational units how the selection process is conducted in detail. The process may also take place in several stages and, in addition to interviews, may include (online) assessments, presentations, or hearings. In any case, you will be informed in good time about the exact procedure. The interviews are held at the respective organisational unit (department, division) that published the job posting. As a rule, a representative of the Working Group on Equal Treatment Issues and a representative of the Works Council also take part in these interviews.
