Philipp Poyntner wins Transfer & Innovation Grand (TIG)
Philipp Poyntner, Senior Scientist at our Department, has received the Transfer & Innovation Grant (TIG) from the Universität Salzburg for a project on Space Economics. Space activities are rapidly evolving—from rare, government-led missions to frequent commercial launches, routine satellite deployments, and long-term ambitions such as crewed missions to Mars. Economics offers a rich toolkit to study these developments: from identifying causal effects in high-frequency data, to analysing principal–agent problems under limited enforcement, to translating insights across literatures into policy and practice. This project aims to explore how different strands of economic research can contribute to addressing key technical and policy challenges in the space domain.
Congratulations!
