femGIS*CA project – Promoting Women’s Skills, Role and Influence in Geoinformatics in Central Asia

From 21–25 September 2025, six participants from universities in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan (Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov, Farabi University, National University of Uzbekistan) came together at the University of Salzburg, Department of Geoinformatics for a workshop within the femGIS*CA project – Promoting Women’s Skills, Role and Influence in Geoinformatics in Central Asia ( https://femgisepu-zgis.hub.arcgis.com/). During the workshop, participants jointly developed teaching materials (i.e. practical assignments) to address the gender gap in Geoinformatics. Presentations and discussions with the MINT Network Salzburg, Ditact, SIR and the Urban Planning Department of the City of Salzburg completed the workshop program
