World Language Festival with the University of Salzburg Language Meetup
On Tuesday, 13 January 2026, from 15:00 to 18:00, the next Language Meetup of the 2025/26 academic year will take place at the City:Library – as part of Salzburg’s World Languages Festival. Under the topic “Celebrating festivals”, language enthusiasts can share experiences, practice their language skills and discover new languages. As part of the World Language Festival of the City of Salzburg, exciting workshops will also be offered. Participation is free and no registration is required – just drop by and join in!
Japanese Filmfestival at the Mozartkino
On 9 and 10 January 2026, the first Japanese Film Festival in Salzburg will take place at the Mozartkino under the title “Japan on Screen – A Film Series by the Embassy of Japan in Austria.” Six Japanese films will be shown in their original language with English subtitles. Tickets are € 10, reduced to € 8 for students and members of the Austrian-Japanese Society.
In addition, on 8 January 2026, there will be a special free screening of the film “Sea of Revival” at Unipark Nonntal (Lecture Hall E.004, Anna Bahr-Mildenburg). The screening starts at 6:00 PM, and admission is free.
