Stefanie Hürtgen | Spring Conference of the Section on Environmental and Sustainability Sociology of the GSA

On March 30 and 31, the spring conference of the  Section on Environmental and Sustainability Sociology (German) of the German Sociological Association took place in Frankfurt am Main. The theme was: “Climate Tip-Over? Contested Transformation, Greenlash, and (Post-)Apocalypse (German).” At a public evening event titled “Climate Tipping Point?! Environmental Policies, Movements & Research Under Pressure (German),” Stefanie Hürtgen from the University of Salzburg and the Frankfurt Institute for Social Research, Franziska Müller from the University of Vienna, and Flurina Schneider from the Institute for Social-Ecological Research discussed issues related to social and ecological tipping points and what they mean for research and science, as well as for social movements.
