Join our Team: We are looking for a Postdoc in “Politics & Gender, Diversity & Equality”

The Paris Lodron University of Salzburg (PLUS) solicits applications for the position of a postdoctoral researcher in “Politics & Gender, Diversity & Equality”. The successful candidate will conduct independent research and provide academic support to the homonymous Professorship at the Department of Political Science mainly in research activities and the acquisition of third party funds. Additional duties and responsibilities include: administrative and organizational tasks; participation in international scientific networks and public relations activities of the Department, Faculty and gendup- the Centerfor Gender Studies and the Promotion of Women at PLUS. This is a research position, but if desired, teaching is also possible.
The Professorship “Politics & Gender, Diversity & Equality” represents and promotes gender studies at the PLUS, and connects political science to other disciplines through the lens of intersectional gender research. We are thus looking for ambitious candidates, who are at the beginning of their career and are open to collaborations beyond the typical confines of discipline-specific research. A key task of the advertised postdoctoral position is to assist the Professorship in fostering scientific synergies in the area of gender & diversity at PLUS and the broader academic space of the Salzburg region – of which the PLUS – with over 18,000 students and 2,800 employees in research, teaching and administration – is the largest educational institution.
The PLUS is committed to the goals of enlightened civil society – tolerance, protection of living space, and free access to scientific knowledge and education for everyone, regardless of their origin, race or ethnic background, gender, disability, religion, beliefs, age or sexual orientation. To implement these goals, the PLUS has developed leitmotifs that link its social responsibility to its competences: Art in Context, Development & Sustainability, Digital Life, and Health & Mind. In this setting, intersectional gender studies provide ample possibilities for distinctively interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary contributions to knowledge at the service of PLUS’ social responsibility.
