This year’s Welcome Day for the department took place on 9 October. As every year at the beginning of the winter semester, the event offered new students the opportunity to get to know the department, its main areas of focus and its premises.

Why is it so difficult to find affordable housing in Salzburg? − The 30-minute documentary “Was Kostet Heimat? (What Does Home Cost?)” (Director: Paul Rosenstatter) gets to the bottom of this question − with expert explanations and personal accounts from young adults looking for housing in Salzburg. Dr. Christian Smigiel from the Division of Human Geography also contributes his expertise to the documentary.
