Podcast | „Stadt, Land, Wohnen“ Teil 2 – Und jetzt konkret?

The second part of the SONDERBAR special series on the “City, Country, Housing” conference is online!

What does housing policy look like in practice—beyond mission statements and press conferences? Who has a say when it comes to affordable housing? And what does “designing” mean when resources are scarce and responsibilities are shared?

The new episode of  SICHTBAR HÖRBAR – SONDERBAR addresses precisely these questions. It is part two of the three-part podcast series on the conference “Stadt, Land, Wohnen – Herausforderungen und Perspektiven regionaler Wohnungsmarktforschung“ which took place on November 5–6, 2025, at the University of Salzburg.

Holger Faby talks to two guests who are actively shaping housing policy: Kai-Michael Dankl, Deputy Mayor of the City of Salzburg, and Christina Lenart, Project Manager at neunerhaus/neunerimmo (Vienna).

The focus is on concrete strategies such as Housing First, the role of non-profit organizations, municipal scope for action – and the question of how political will and structural conditions fit together (or not).

The SONDERBAR podcast series accompanies the conference audibly and brings voices from research, politics, and practice into conversation. Part one with Robert Musil (Austrian Academy of Sciences) and Christian Smigiel (University of Salzburg) in December 2025 highlighted theoretical and practical research perspectives in the context of the conference “City, Country, and Housing.” Part three will be released at the end of January 2026 and will bring voices directly from the conference to SICHTBAR HÖRBAR.

As always, the podcast is available on  Spotify,  Apple Podcasts and  Amazon Music.
