CagA Phosphorylation in Helicobacter pylori-Infected B Cells Is Mediated by the Nonreceptor Tyrosine Kinases of the Src and Abl Families
Linda M. Krisch, Gernot Posselt, Peter Hammerl and Silja Wessler
Abstract:
Translocation and signaling of the Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) main pathogenic factor CagA is well characterized in gastric epithelial cells. To study function and upstream signaling, leading to CagA phosphorylation in B cells, MEC1 cells were established as a new infection model. We could show that host cell kinases of the Src and Abl family play a crucial role in the phosphorylation of CagA upon injection and might thereby represent druggable targets in H. pylori-mediated gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma.
