CF GenomicsThe CF Genomics facility at the University of Salzburg provides state-of-the-art technologies, infrastructure and scientific expertise for genomics, transcriptomics, single-cell and spatial omics research. Our aim is to support researchers in generating high-quality, reproducible molecular data and in selecting the most appropriate experimental and analytical strategies for their scientific questions.

We support collaborative, academic and commercial projects across a broad range of applications. Depending on the individual project, our involvement can range from initial consultation and experimental planning to sample preparation, library generation, sequencing or spatial profiling, quality control, data processing and downstream analysis. We place particular emphasis on adapting workflows to the biological question, sample type and available material rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.

Our technology portfolio covers established and emerging methods in genomics and spatial biology, enabling the analysis of gene expression, genomic variation, cellular heterogeneity and the spatial organization of tissues. This allows projects to address questions ranging from conventional sequencing and transcriptomic profiling to complex single-cell and spatially resolved studies.

Beyond technical service provision, we see the Core Facility as a collaborative research partner. We are happy to discuss experimental design, technology selection, sample requirements, feasibility and potential analytical strategies at an early stage of a project. Early consultation is particularly valuable for complex or limited samples and for projects involving single-cell or spatial technologies, where study design and sample handling can have a major impact on data quality and downstream interpretation.

We welcome inquiries from researchers within and outside the University of Salzburg as well as from external academic and commercial partners. Projects can be discussed individually in a call or meeting to identify the most suitable workflow and level of support.
