Thank you for your interest in the online survey. The data collection has now ended. We are currently in the process analysing the results.

If you have any questions, suggestions or comments on the compatibility of working/studying at the University of Salzburg with family responsibilities, please do not hesitate to contact us:

The University of Salzburg attaches great importance to creating study and working conditions that enable the compatibility of studying and working at the University of Salzburg with other areas of life. For us, compatibility is closely linked to multiple loads and is considered intersectionally, i.e. we do not refer exclusively to childcare and caring activities but also include multiple burdens due to committee work at the university as well as disabilities/chronic illnesses and more.
In this context, the family service (department FGDD) is conducting an online survey until 7th of oct. 2025 to identify current questions regarding compatibility issues and requirements on the part of members of the University of Salzburg. Based on the results, recommendations and measures for family-friendly studying and working will be developed.
Your experiences and needs are important to us, regardless if you are confronted with compatibility issues of studying, working and teaching at the University of Salzburg with your private life (in particular childcare and/or caring responsibilities), or whether you have to deal with compatibility issues in your everyday professional and academic life through other members of the University of Salzburg.

To whom is the survey adressed?
We invite all members of the University of Salzburg to participate in the survey, in particular:

  • People with support and caring responsibilities for family members (regardless of whether they live in the same household or not) and other close persons (such as flatmates)
  • People with childcare responsibilities
  • Staff members who have to deal with compatibility issues of other members of the University of Salzburg (such as colleagues, lecturers and university students)
  • Students who are confronted with compatibility issues of other members of the University of Salzburg (such as lecturers, secretarial staff or fellow students)

Period of the survey
The online survey will take place from 12th of sept. to 07th of oct. 2025.
