Since 2017 there has been a significant increase in harassment, threats and abuse faced by women online.The documentary “Backlash: Misogyny in the Digital Age” is a visceral showcase of the violence women face online. The film tells the stories of Laura Boldrini, Kiah Morris, Marion Seclan, Laurence Gratton and Glen Canning and their struggles against online abuse. The depictions of their daily struggles show thereal-life effects of hate, fear and anxiety beyond the keyboard.The film highlights their unified fight for accountability from tech giants, governments and perpetrators, aiming to challenge the enduring discrimination against women.
