The EU project “Promotion de l’éducation plurilingue – Partage de pratiques, formation et information (PEP)” started on 1st September 2023 with the participation of the Language Centre of Paris Lodron University Salzburg (PLUS).

The aims of the project are to strengthen the competences of (active and future) language teachers, to promote multilingual education and, as an overarching and longer-term goal, to promote multilingualism among European citizens. To achieve these goals, several work packages are planned, each coordinated by one of the seven participating partner universities.

Work packages:

• Collection and analysis of practices of multilingual education in Europe
• Publication of a collection of good practice examples
• Creation of a reference work with contributions to the theory and practice of multilingual education as well as the development and maintenance of a “Multilingualism” section on Wikiversity
• Development of a hybrid training/continuing education programme in the field of multilingual education, including a teacher’s guide.

The project is coordinated by the University of La Réunion under the direction of Prof. Christian Ollivier; the PLUS Language Centre is responsible for co-ordination. The total funding amounts to € 400,000.
