Award of Excellence
The Award of Excellence of the Ministry of Science has been awarded to the top 40 graduates of doctoral programs since 2008. Recommendations for this award come from the universities. On 4 December, 2014, the prize was awarded for the seventh time.

On 12 and 13 December, 2014, the International Symposium “My Favorite Things – Patterns of Construction and Perception in the Middle Ages and Early Modern Period” will be held at the University of Salzburg.
Salzburg Psychologist Receives Starting Grant from the European Research Council
The Salzburg psychologist, Jens Blechert, received one of the ten the ERC Starting Grants awarded this year. With up to two million Euro being awarded, prizes will go to five-year projects in basic research of the best young scientists.
