We welcome our new colleague Philipp Poyntner who joins us as a postdoctoral researcher after having received his PhD from the WU Vienna in 2023. His research focuses on macroeconomics, specifically unconventional monetary policy, the housing market and inequality. He applies empirical methods using predominantly microdata such as surveys, firm data, bond data and administrative data. Welcome Philipp!

Philipps research has been published in journals such as the Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics and the Review of Income and Wealth. During the summer of 2023, he has been visiting the Bank of England to work on a project on integrating shadow banks in a DSGE model with conventional and unconventional monetary policy. He carried out consulting work for the International Finance Corporation (World Bank), the Austrian National Bank (OeNB), and the European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research.
