„Business Administration with a

focus on Controlling“

Responsibilities

  • achievement of individually agreed qualification targets within a specified period;
  • independent research and teaching;
  • academic support in research and teaching activities as well as participation in administrative tasks in the Department of Business;
  • teaching of four hours per week (rising to eight hours upon completion of the qualification phase).

Employment Requirements

  • doctorate (PhD) in Business Studies or Business Administration with a focus on Controlling, at least partly published;
  • proven independent research and publication activity in the area of Controlling;
  • teaching experience in the relevant subject;
  • very good German and English skills.

Desirable Additional Qualifications

  • a focus on research in the area of Controlling in family-owned businesses or Digital Controlling and the use of new technologies or Sustainable Corporate Management, proven by publications in highly ranked journals relevant to the subject and/or by monographs or edited works;
  • excellent teaching experience in the area of Principles of Cost Accounting, Controlling and Performance Measurement and/or Risk Management (in German);
  • experience in the acquisition of third-party funding;
  • national and international networking;
  • proven involvement in third mission activities;
  • external academic activity outside the University of Salzburg, preferably abroad, minimum 1 year.

Desirable Personal Qualities

  • willingness to cooperate and openness to interdisciplinarity in research and teaching;
  • ability to work in a team, flexibility, ability to cope with stress, reliability.

Contract duration: Six years. Upon achievement of the agreed qualification targets, the contract becomes permanent (Associate Professor).

Salary: Grade A2 according to § 49 sec. 2 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement; monthly salary € 6.389,50 gross (14 payments per year). If the qualification agreement is not concluded at the start of employment, initial grading will be B1 according to § 49 sec. 3b) of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, monthly salary: € 5.014,30 gross (14 payments per year).
