Matthias Heinz is Professor of Romance linguistics at the Department of Romance Studies, his research interests encompass digital lexicography, language contact and the phonology and sociolinguistics of Italian, French and Spanish. As Dean, he represents the Faculty with regard to the strategic development of the Faculty in research and teaching issues and coordinates the work of various faculty bodies. In doing so, he is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the course and examination operations in the studies established at the Faculty of Arts & Humanities as well as for organizing administrative tasks and the Faculty’s infrastructures. He is the representative of the Faculty towards the Rectorate.

Melissa Vetters is Associate Professor of Aegean Prehistory and Early History at the Department of Classical Studies. Her research interests include the archaeology of the Aegean Bronze Age. As deputy dean, she is responsible for habilitation procedures and appointment committees.

Simon Pickl is Associate Professor of German Linguistics at the Department of German Studies. His research interests include language change and language variation in German. As deputy dean, he is responsible for study-related matters (admissions, PhD theses etc.).
