Introduction
The Forum Asia Pacific (FOR APAC) continues the long summer school tradition of the former Chinese Studies Center at Paris Lodron University Salzburg, which initiated its China Know-How Summer School for students from universities in Austria and other European countries in 1999.
Three years ago, the former Chinese Studies Center was transformed into the Forum Asia Pacific in order to involve more countries from the Asia-Pacific region and to strengthen the scientific aspects of teaching and research projects in this area. During the Covid years and after the Covid period, this summer school could not take place.
This year, we are very pleased to announce our Summer School – now under the name
“FOR APAC International Asia Know-How Summer School”.
The Summer School invites students from our university as well as international students from other universities and universities of applied sciences to participate in order to promote a broader exchange between students from different parts of the world.
We are looking forward to welcoming students and intersted colleagues to our summer school and to addressing important topics of our globalized world in Asia together.
The FOR APAC International Asia Know-How Summer School 2025 offers an exciting program that will take place from August 15 to September 7, 2025 (long version) in Beijing (Peking University) and Shanghai or from August 15 to August 29 in Beijing at Peking University (short version).
The Summer School will deal with various China- and Asia-related topics in today’s globalized world. The aim of the FOR APAC International Asia Know-How Summer School is to impart knowledge for a deeper understanding of China and Asia.
Topics from the fields of history, politics, law, economics, philosophy, sociology, sustainability & development, interculturality, literature, art, music, etc. will be covered.
In addition, expert discussions will be held with representatives of the Austrian Embassy in Beijing, the Austrian foreign trade offices in the People’s Republic of China, banking experts and lawyers as well as visits to joint venture companies and excursions to historically relevant locations.
FEES
3-weeks program (long version): 3.888 €
2-weeks program (short version): 2.500 €
SCHOLARSHIP
As a student at Paris Lodron University Salzburg, you have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship (scholarship for short-term subject-specific courses abroad).
