Eurasia-Pacific Uninet (EPU) Call 2026 (Project Funding)

The Eurasia-Pacific Uninet (EPU) promotes and supports bilateral and multilateral projects in the fields of research, research-led teaching and art, and technology cooperation  with EPU member universities, universities of applied sciences and research institutions in Central Asia, East Asia and the Pacific region.

Bilateral projects with China, India, and South Korea are only funded in the fields of art and clinical electives. For bilateral projects with these countries, please refer to the  WTZ programs.

Project duration: 01.06.2027 – 31.05.2028

Africa-UniNet_7th Call (Project Funding)

Africa-UniNet supports international research projects that include at least one Austrian and one African member university / university of applied sciences / research institution. All participating institutions must be  active Africa-UniNet members. The University of Salzburg is among the first 40 funding members.

Applications can only be submitted via the StipOnline portal.

Cooperation Development Research (KoEF) 7th Call_2026

Cooperation Development Research (KoEF) is a funding programme financed by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Women, Science and Research (BMFWF) and implemented by the OeAD to support scientifically excellent cooperation development research projects between Austrian higher education and research institutions and institutions in countries of the Global South with the aim of contributing to the analysis and solution of local challenges and to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Due to the regulations set by the Special Guideline on the “Measures for Internationalization” (GZ: BMBWF-2024-0.205.097) of the Federal Ministry of Women, Science and Research (BMFWF), only Austrian Higher Education Institutions or Austrian Research Institutions can submit and coordinate a project.

As in previous years, project consortia must consist of at least one Austrian public university or research performing institution and at least one state-accredited university or research performing institution in  an eligible partner country classified by the OECD as a least developed country, low-income country, or lower-middle-income country or territory (excluding India).

S&T Cooperation – Ukraine (Scientific & Technological Cooperation)

The Scientific & Technological Cooperation – Ukraine Call 2026 for joint research projects between Ukraine and Austrian scientists is now open. This funding program aims to promote bilateral scientific collaboration in the areas of science and technology, social sciences as well as humanities.

  1. Project duration: 1st January 2027 until 31st December 2028

  3. The applications must be submitted both to the Agency for Education and Internationalisation (OeAD) of Austria ( only Online Application in Austria) and to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Application deadline: 24 April 2026, 12:00 noon (CET)

ASEA-UNINET Call 2026 (Project Funding)

The ASEA-UNINET Call 2026 (Project period: 01.10.2026 – 30.09.2027 or 01.10.2026 – 30.09.2028) is now for applications open.

The objective is to promote bilateral and multilateral projects in the field of research, research-led teaching or art between Austria and the following ASEA-UNINET member countries: Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand and  Vietnam. The call is open to all scientific disciplines.

  1. All universities participating in the project and receiving funding must  be ASEA-UNINET (Full-)Members or Candidate Members.
  2. Project applications must be submitted to the OeAD  online.
