New Course: Seminar on Dynamic Machine Learning Algorithms
In this seminar, we will discuss recent results in algorithms research, with a focus on the relationship between dynamic algorithms and machine learning. We will study basic algorithms for supervised and unsupervised machine learning tasks in which the input data is constantly changing and the algorithm quickly has to adapt its output after each such change. Further topics of interest include the use of novel dynamic matrix data structures in (static) machine learning algorithms and dynamic algorithms for data science tasks.
New group member: Tetiana Mazanko
Tetiana Mazanko has joined our research group as an office assistant. Tetiana holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in Information and Computer Engineering (with a specialization in printing and publishing), both from the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Welcome to the group, Tetiana!
NOeG 2023 Conference
From September 28-29, 2023, the Department of Economics at Paris Lodron University Salzburg (PLUS) hosted the annual meeting of the Nationalökonomische Gesellschaft for the first time in Salzburg. The NOeG is the largest association of Austrian economists and about 150 participants accepted the invitation to present and discuss their latest research in Salzburg. The conference also featured two keynotes, one by Maximilian Kasy (Oxford University) on “Economics & Machine Learning” and the other by Claudia Steinwender on “Industrial Policy during the Great Divergence”. Thanks to all participants for coming to Salzburg!
