The idea for the Green Office Program came from Vice Rector Fatima Ferreira-Briza. Her office was also the first at the University to be awarded the Green Office Certificate. Essentially, it is important that all employees of the University of Salzburg help achieve sustainability by putting into practice simple behavioral measures during everyday office work.
How does it work? As explained in the Excel file (see link to file below), any staff member of the University can self-certify his/her office. Those who achieve at least 50% of the points reach Green Office Level One; once 80% of the available point total is reached, you enter Stage Two. Each level is marked on the certificate with a flower, designed by Roland Widhalm; the certificate was designed by Hermann Kunstmann.
