Relational research in practice:
Weaving disciplines, methodologies,
and the more-than-human world
(Nov. 9, 2026)

How is relational research conducted, communicated, and translated into practice?

Join Marketta Kyttä, Cornelia Schadler, Lisbeth Jamila Haider, Rachelle Gould, and Anna Krzywoszynska for an online symposium exploring the challenges of putting relational thinking into practice.

We will explore methodological challenges in studying dynamic human–environment relations, including how to honour more-than-human agency and the plurality of relationships. We will also discuss how to communicate relational research across disciplinary and epistemological boundaries without losing its complexity, and how its insights can inform practice.

Speaker contributions will be followed by an interactive discussion with all participants.

The event is organised by Natalie Kerschhofer (University of Salzburg) and Kathrin Ehlert (Eindhoven University of Technology), with support from the HNR Network and IAPS.

9 November 2026, 15:00–18:00 CET / 09:00–12:00 EST
