What will I learn?
In the Master’s degree teacher training programme for the subject of Catholic Religious Education, students hone the academic skills required for the reflexion of faith and religion. Doing so, the will also consider the world religions and general religious questions. Graduates will be able to perform tasks in leading positions in relevant professional fields competently, independently and comprehensively.

In the centre of one of the most beautiful cities of Europe, the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Salzburg offers you an academic locus which meets the global challenges of modern life. With the Fakultätsschwerpunkt “Theologie interkulturell und Studium der Religionen” (Intercultural Theology and Religious Studies) we focus on different cultural religious contexts and examine the meaning of faith for the modern post-secular society. Our students’ contentment lies close to our faculty’s heart. Small courses, constant support and a personal atmosphere contribute to our students’ well-being.

Which career opportunities do I have?
Teacher of Religious Education at schools (HS, NMS, Gymnasium, BMS, BHS); occupations in ecclesiastical fields such as, e.g., pastoral assistant, hospital chaplaincy, youth work, NGOs, etc.

Admission Requirements: In order to be admitted to the M.Rel.Ed.Univ. degree teachertraining programme in Catholic Religion Education,students must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relatedfield from an accredited inland or international institutionof higher education.
Language of instruction: German (Proof of language proficiency)
