A Warm Welcome to the University of Salzburg!

From 22 September to 4 October 2025, we warmly welcome all first-semester students to the Welcome Weeks. During this period, new students will gain a comprehensive insight into life and studying in Salzburg.

Look forward to a diverse programme featuring helpful information about starting your studies, exciting events to get to know the university, as well as a wide range of services and support offers. In addition, there will be numerous events designed to ease your transition and help you make your first connections.

    ÖH Compact – Representation & Services for Students (English)

    This short presentation offers a concise overview of the responsibilities, participation opportunities, and services provided by the Austrian Students’ Union (ÖH) at the University of Salzburg. It introduces key support services such as advisory programmes and financial assistance, and explains the ÖH’s role as the official student representative body at both university and national level.

    E) Equality in higher education: the Family, Gender, Disability & Diversity department presents its services
    Not all students are the same – everyone has different backgrounds and living conditions. How can we create the best possible conditions for all students to succeed in their studies? The FGDD department offers information, support and events on topics such as studying with disabilities/chronic illnesses, balancing studies and childcare or care work, gender diversity and career advancement for women, as well as respectful coexistence in a diverse environment. In this presentation, the department will introduce its work and services for students, as well as contact details.
